In August 2026, Changtai received a welding machine order from a customer. The customer required that the machine is able to produce stainless steel pipes with bulges on bioth edges. After communication within technology team, the final proposal was to adjust the rolling part.
Typically, the material used for cans is tinplate. It is inexpensive and easy to form. But it is not as corrosion-resistant as stainless steel. Therefore, tinplate is usually used to produce disposable cans. However, the pipes in kitchen hoods need a material with high corrosional resistance and durability. Based on this, stainless steel is one of the best choices. Although stainless steel has these advantages, it is difficult to reform which necessitates an update to rolling technology.
Due to the hardness of stainless steel, engineers strengthened and developed the rolling part to roll the sheet into shape.
In addition, there is a bulge design on the edge of the pipe. To prevent these bulges from being flattened, the rolling part was also been adjusted.
